Number 3: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
As a family we are all pretty Harry Potter obsessed. Tim read the first book whilst laid up in bed with a nasty bout of chickenpox whilst I was in the early throes of pregnancy and not much help as a nursemaid. As one of his symptoms was hallucinations, I suspect the reading experience was greatly enhanced! Anyway, we have all subsequently read and re read all the books, devoured the movies and had the opportunity to visit Universal Studious in Orlando to take in the full HP experience; and of course the Warner Brothers Studios over here. This meant that of course we had to see the much anticipated plays when they came out.
This involved being organised for once, which is NOT my forte, so tickets were purchased some 18months before the event in the hope that nothing major came up in the meantime to clash. We decided to make the most of the day travelling up for breakfast in Covent Garden and then making our way to the theatre for the first play.
It was clear from people's attire that many of the audience were as obsessed as us, and more so! We decided to leave the cloaks and wands at home!!
I'm not going to say much about the plays themselves as they come with the #keepthe secret, other than to say that it was worth the wait and definitely recommended for anyone who has read all the books and wants a bit more!
We managed to squeeze in a Chinese meal in Chinatown in between the two plays so all in all a thoroughly good day out
